China
Overseas Holdings Limited (COHL) was incorporated in
Hong Kong in June 1979. It is an independent subsidiary of China
State Construction Engineering Corporation ('CSCEC'), the largest

took the lead in asset restructuring and shares enhancement and
becomes the first China-backed company to be listed in Hong Kong.
Up till today, its listed arm in Hong Kong, China Overseas Land

market value in Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Over the past 20 years, COHL has reclaimed

that are completed or underway cover a total area of 1,157 square
metres, with 350,000 people being accommodated by the residential
projects alone.
At present, COHL has business establishments
in numerous mainland provinces and cities including Beijing, Shanghai,
Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Guangxi and Chengdu. As of June 2001,
the Group has undertaken 34 development projects across the mainland.
Of the 27 that have been completed, they involved a total site area

metres, and an investment of HK$8 billion. The 7 ongoing projects,
on the other hand, represent a total site area of 630,000, construction

"China Overseas" achieves
its success not only by attaining satisfactory profit margin, but
also with its unique "real estate intelligence" as a developer.
Through fulfilling its vision, the Group has made a significant
impact on Shenzhen's property development as a whole. Among the
most far-reaching are the notions of "Quality in Process"
and "5+2 Approach".
At China Overseas, only "Quality in
Process" will ensure "Buildings with Quality" and
therefore the satisfaction of customers. Residential clients will
only trust developers who satisfy their requirements in terms of
the property's location, elevation, floor layout, quality and management.
In other words, a good developer should excel in each of these aspects
in order to ensure customer satisfaction. COHL's principle of "Quality
in Process" is based on the belief that residential buildings
are durable goods rather than consumable goods. For many consumers,
buying their own homes may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity;
any unmet standards in the above aspects would jeopardize their
pursuit of quality living. This assurance is what COHL is committed
to bring about through "Quality in Process".
COHL boasts a host of "Buildings with
Quality" that are unmatched by other developers. Within the
industry itself, COHL has set the standard with the reputable status
of "the brandname that guarantees quality" and "the
builder from Hong Kong who never falls behind in design". While
this description says it all about COHL's integrity, it only captures
part of what the Group has achieved as a developer over the past
20 years.
